VARSITY
The tournament will follow New York State Public High School Athletic Association Rules (NYSPHSAA) with a few exceptions.
- Each team guaranteed 4 games
- Full Size Field
- 10 vs. 10
- 45 minutes running time
- 25 minute 1st half
- 20 minute second half
- The score at the end of the first half will be used for tournament scoring. The second half does not count.
- Games tied at the half will be decided by the first goal of the second half.
- No roster size limit
- Teams will have one hour between games
- All star teams are not permitted in the tournament
- Each team must be coached by a member of their respective schools coaching staff.
- There are no time-outs.
- Any player coach or fan ejected from a game for any reason is automatically ejected for the remainder of the event and must leave the venue.
YOUTH
Each game will consist of two twenty-five (25) minute halves with a two minute half time. Games are scheduled every 60 minutes. When your game is finished, shake the other teams hand and leave the bench area. If you are waiting to play, warm up on the side of the field so we can start the next game immediately after the previous game.
Rules
- The games will consist of two 25 minute running time halves. Halftime is 2 minutes long.
- One timeout per game. No time outs in the last 2 minutes of the game (a horn will signal 2 minutes remaining). Clock will continue to run during timeout.
- Time will be kept at the tournament headquarters.
- A single long blast will signify beginning and end of each half
- Two short blasts will signify 2 minutes left in the game.
- Keep it in for the team ahead in last 2 minutes
- Sudden Death Overtime in playoff games only & 1 timeout allowed per team in OT.
- Exception: Substitutions permitted on all out of bounds.
- Exception: 6 goal mercy rule - ball is given to a losing team that trails by six or more goals at midfield, regardless of which team scores.
- Face-offs after each goal and the beginning of each half and overtime. Unless one team is ahead by 6 or more goals.
- All penalties will be one minute. The penalty will begin on official's restart of play after penalty is called. Penalties are running time.
- Checking - No body checking. Two handed stick checks only.
- Long poles - No long poles for 3/4 and 5/6 level.
Point System - 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. Tie Breaker: head to head, goal differential (5 max per game), fewest goals allowed, most shutouts, coin toss.
